Canmore Artist Patti Dyment has been making art all her adult life. She took painting classes in college, and two years of the U of A Fine Art and Design program, as well as many workshops from fine artists.
Eleven years ago she decided to focus all her artistic efforts on becoming a fine art oil painter. She’s been painting and studying relentlessly ever since.
Patti took up plein air painting five years ago, and gets out as much as she can. She particularly enjoys mountain painting excursions.
Living in Canmore for 27 years has given her a deep appreciation and attachment to the landscape of the Rockies.
Painting career highlights of the past few years include:
-being juried for FCA signature status in 2011
-solo and trio exhibitions in the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies
-duo exhibitions in the Canmore Guild Gallery, the Edge Gallery, Canmore, and the Fallen Leaf Gallery, Canmore
-The Calgary Stampede Western Art Gallery
-many Federation of Canadian Artists group exhibitions, including Spilsbury Medal and AIRS exhibitions
-teaching many classes and workshops in painting and drawing, and private oil painting lessons.
Patti’s oils are represented by the Fallen Leaf Gallery in Canmore. www.fallenleafgallery.com
