Lee-Anne Murakami
Lee-Anne has spent most of her life in the pituresque town of High River where
she lives with her husband and 2 children. She has many passions, one which is
capturing the beauty that surrounds us everyday! She is never far from her
trusty friend and her companion, her camera bag, always ready for that split
second shot to reveal itself.
“I feel blessed that I live in an area that is rich with so many wonderful attributes. I
love being able to walk out my front door everyday and see nature’s beauty
everywhere I turn. And sometimes I am lucky enough to capture the essence of
the nature and scenery that keeps me here!”
“This is my home and I consider it a privilege to be able to share some of what I
get to see every day with you!”
Chuck Hall
Art Education:
Obtained a Bachelor Degree in 1968 from Western Washington State University majoring in Urban Planning and minor in Fine Arts (which involved both 2D and 3D art). Received numerous Honors in Fine Arts while at University.
My art since university involved personal art provided to family members as gifts. Recently I have undertaken painting of scenery in Alberta in acrylics and/or pastels.
Artist’s Statement:
I have always enjoyed art and am inspired to both draw and paint scenery from our cottage at Sylvan Lake and the absolute beauty present elsewhere in Alberta. The natural beauty lends itself to the appreciation of the visual arts. The beauty of clouds, be it in summer or fall, are an inspiration.
In my semi-retirement, I find inspiration in translating and saving the visual beauty of Alberta.
My choice of median is acrylics on canvas and its fast drying properties.
I am inspired by the simplicity in paintings by artist Cameron Bird and the Group of Seven.

Lorraine Gorsche
I started Decorative Art Painting when my children were young to have a creative outlet. Then when they were school age working as a Speech Pathologist and Coordinating the Community Rehabilitation Program took up most of my spare time.
Around 2008 I started attending an art class one day a week working on canvases, choosing my own pictures, and bouncing ideas off of a Russian instructor and other artists in the class. It’s always interesting and stimulating to see the wide range of artists work!
Now I try to paint even more often using acrylic as my choice of medium. Enjoying texture and vibrant colors this comes through on the pieces I paint. They are a mixture of scenery, flowers, animals, people and abstract paintings. I have had scenery pictures in the Rotary silent auctions at the Lobster and Steak Fry, sold several paintings privately and done commissioned work. Everywhere I go I see inspiration to paint!

Connie Christensen
Connie Christensen is a contemporary acrylic painter who is artful in some way every day.
Her contemporary fun paintings reflect her decision to choose to see happiness and positivity over worldly worry. Colour and simplicity are used to create a feeling of freshness. Her paintings are the counterpoint to the heaviness of 24 hours of news.
When painting with acrylics, Connie has been focusing on the subjects of Alberta’s ‘Atmospheric Landscapes’ and ‘Bubble Trees’ – an interpretation of the trembling aspen trees found in our area.
She currently calls Calgary home landing there via Saskatchewan, B.C. and Australia.
