Bio:
Arlene Westen Evans, BFA
Arlene is a multi-disciplinary artist, instructor and ‘art-trepreneur’. Initially graduating with a Visual Arts Diploma from Grant MacEwan University in Edmonton and Tailoring Technology Certificate from N.A.I.T. she returned to her studies after raising her family, earning two distinctly different baccalaureate degrees: Fibre Art with Honors from the Alberta College of Art and Design, and Studio Arts, Honors with Great Distinction from the University of Lethbridge, Alberta.
Arlene’s comprehensive 4 decade-long practice has included mixed media; fibre art and surface design, printmaking, book arts, alternative photographic processes (cyanotype and Polaroid transfer), mixed media collage, and conceptual and installation-based art for the public sector. She has also been known to wield a paint brush from time-to-time.
