Bio:
So happy to be residing in High River Alberta. I came from Edmonton, AB and one day thought it was time to move, so here we are.
With a large young family my art work consisted with crafts that ended in teaching classes. As my heart was always into wanting to be an artist I stared painting but ended up in Real Estate for 30 years so my art skills turned into advertising brochures.
After retiring I got into painting full time. I happened to be in a framing store as was approched by a design store and gallery owner who asked me to be a part of her collection. I got really busy and started to sell a lot of paintings.
I love texture, light and color. I mostly use acrylic as there are many layer of glazes that I use over my work. Between the heavy texture and glazes there is a long drying time. Some of my paintings are done with heavy mediums and any thing I can find that will give me the texture I am looking for.
The biggest compliment I get is when someone stands and looks into a painting and sees inside and comments on what they see. It’s very easy for me to be inspired by that and many things I view in the outside in the world.
I used to be a fine art artist, however I developed and tremor that has taken me in a total world of abstract art. This was the greatest thing that happened as I Iove the journey I go on as I am painting. Always different.
I am an untrained artist with a couple of art courses behind me and that’s about it. So much of what I do is what I see in my head and the world. It really is fun to go through the process and take the ride to the finish. Best thing that happened to me.
My work is found int private and commercial collections throughout Canada and the US. One of my pieces was on the cover of the Medical Magazine that goes across Canada. I’ve also been in Avenue Magazine, Harrison Galley (Calgary) High River Galleries, Charity Auctions big and small, all of which I am very proud of.
Thank you for visiting my work. Hope you found something you gave some pleasure and inspired you. I’m happy to have you visit anytime.
