Dana has master’s degree in architecture from Prague, Czech Republic. She worked for 10 years in architectural firms in Prague and Toronto, before she decided to switch to art. Later Dana took the art courses at Ontario College of Art, Alberta College of Art and Vancouver Island School of Art. Dana won many awards for her art locally, nationally and internationally. Since moving to Canmore 20 years ago, Dana had 14 solo exhibitions, and participated in over a 100 juried group exhibitions. Dana works in acrylics, mixed media and textiles.
Dana believes the paintings should be a visual poetry, felt with your heart rather than a brain, so she prefers to paint the emotions rather then things. She spends most of her free time somewhere high up in the mountains, where she soaks up the experiences and the visual images and later paints them in her studio. Her paintings are mostly about the nature, which is where her heart is.
