Growing up on the prairie only 40 miles from the mountains, the wide open spaces appealed to the artist within. The native flora and fauna have always been an inspiration. After retiring from the workplace Nancy returned to a love of drawing and painting her work displaying a good knowledge of botany and a love of nature in general. “Variety is the spice of Life” could well describe her subject matter, usually portrayed in a realistic style. Nancy explores different media including printmaking and abstract. Things appealing to her personally are painted with the intent to convey that appeal to the viewer. Although the painting may take the viewer to a different time or place the piece conveys its own message
Over the years, showing since 1987, at various locations, she has had duo and solo shows at the Okotoks Art Gallery, Groups shows at the Remington Carriage Museum in Cardston AB, participated in the CE &S Western Art Auction, a woodblock printmaking exhibition at the North Bank Gallery in Vancouver WA. She currently shows with the Group Artist Society of Calgary and as a Life Member of the Calgary Sketch Club.
